This nighttime parade is hosted by the Krewe of the Knights of Sant’ Yago and takes place each February in Ybor City. Parade revelers adorn all types of creative lighting to add an extra element of fun to this parade.
The parade began in 1974 to celebrate latin culture. It is held 2 weeks after the Gasparilla day-parade, and some call it the "Gasparilla night parade." In addition to leading the Knight Parade the Krewe of the Knights of Sant' Yago has an eduction foundation that has donated millions in college scholarships over the years.
Ybor City is a historic neighborhood of Tampa lined with brick streets. Around 1900, Ybor became known as the cigar capital of the world and cigar lounges are an intregal party of Ybor. Today, only 1 cigar factory remains operational. Approximately 25 of the historic cigar factory buildings exist today as office space, hotels or residences.
